AI chat

In the Chat tab of the Builder you describe what you want and the assistant builds it for you: it creates pages, inserts and adjusts blocks, and connects blocks to the workspace entities. Each change shows up in the preview while it works.

What you can ask for

The screen suggests a few requests to get you started:

  • Create a contracts page with the overdue ones highlighted
  • Add a chart of due dates by month on this page
  • Sort the table by due date and show only 5 rows

That is how a good part of the Aurora Energia portal was built. Some requests from the workspace history:

RequestWhat the assistant did
Create an invoices page with tabs for to pay, paid and allCreated the Invoices page with the tabs and a table of the Invoice entity.
Link each row to a detail pageCreated the Invoice detail page, outside the menu, and made each table row open the detail.
And a chart with the invoice amount by month next to a calendarPlaced two columns, with the chart on the left and the calendar on the right.
Create a help page with FAQ and a contact formCreated the Help page with four questions and the Talk to us form.

Besides pages and blocks, the assistant can also:

  • Work with data — register an entity from a connected source, sync an entity or create a calculated field. These changes apply right away in the workspace (they are not part of the draft).
  • Suggest colors for the portal — see Portal look.
  • Suggest changes to the portal settings that apply right away, like the login options and the email sender.
  • Save text files it wrote (CSV, Markdown, JSON…) in Files, for you to use in a link.

Talk about a specific block

Select a block in the preview before writing: the chat shows Selected: block name and the request applies to it — for example, "show only 5 rows" with the table selected.

Attachments

Click the paperclip (or drag files into the chat) to attach up to 10 files per message: images, PDFs, spreadsheets and texts — a layout reference, a banner, a list of FAQs. The files are uploaded to Files when the message is sent. In the Files tab of the Builder, you can also attach a file that is already there.

Proposals: you confirm first

Some actions the assistant only suggests. It shows a card with what will change and a button — nothing happens until you click:

CardButtonWhat it does
PublishReview and publishOpens the publish window, with the suggested note. You still confirm there.
Restore a versionRestore to draftAsks for confirmation and copies the version to the draft.
Put a version liveGo back liveAsks for confirmation and republishes the version.
ColorsApplyApplies the proposed palette to the draft.
Portal settingsApplyChanges the settings, showing before and after. Applies right away, without publishing.
Something only you can doOpenTakes you to where you finish the task: fill in a button's secret, connect a data source, upload the logo, set up a domain, SSO or OIDC login.

The assistant never asks for passwords, tokens or keys in the chat. When a step needs a secret, it shows the Open card for you to fill it in in the right place.

Undo

Below the last reply that changed pages, Undo reply appears: the pages it changed go back to how they were before, and the menu goes back to the previous order. The reply is struck through as Reply undone.

If you (or another reply) changed one of those pages afterwards, the Builder does not undo it, so as not to erase that work. Undo also does not reach what applies outside the draft: registered entities, syncs, calculated fields and applied settings.

Conversations

  • New conversation starts from scratch, without the context of the previous messages.
  • Conversations lists the portal's previous conversations, from any member. Click one to continue it.

A conversation that is too long (or that reached the spending limit) asks you to start a new one.

Cost

Each message consumes the organization's AI credits. Consumption by workspace, member and model appears in Artificial Intelligence › Usage; credits and limits, in Billing.

A message may be refused when:

  • there are too many messages in a short time — wait a minute;
  • the organization is out of AI credits or reached the monthly spending limit;
  • the conversation got too large or reached the spending limit — start a new conversation.

Without the assistant configured, the chat warns you and you keep editing through the Blocks and the preview.
